Three bodies handed over to Israel by Islamist Hamas have been identified as the mortal remains of soldiers abducted in the Gaza Strip. They are Asaf Hamami, Omer Neutra and Oz Daniel, the Israeli army announced on Platform X this morning. The three soldiers were killed in the massacre by Hamas and other extremists in Israel on October 7, 2023 while fighting the terrorists. Their bodies were subsequently abducted. With the handover of their bodies, there are now eight dead hostages in Gaza.

Hamas had handed over the remains of the three abducted hostages to staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) the previous evening, after which they were taken to Israel for identification. In accordance with the ceasefire agreement on October 13, the Islamists had released all hostages still alive in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
However, contrary to what was agreed as part of US President Donald Trump's peace plan, the terrorist organization has been slow to hand over the bodies. It justifies this by saying that it is difficult for them to find the dead because they are buried under the rubble of bombed buildings and tunnels. Israel describes this as a lie by Hamas.
