According to official Israeli sources, the body recently handed over by the Islamist Hamas is that of a student from Tanzania. The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the identity of the young man who had been abducted in the Gaza Strip during the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023.

The forum of the hostage's relatives announced that the agricultural student had come to Israel just three weeks before the attack to gain practical experience in agriculture.

On Wednesday evening, the Islamists handed over the mortal remains to employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The body was then taken to Israel for forensic examination.

Israel and the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas had agreed on the handover of bodies as part of the ceasefire agreement in October. There are now six dead hostages in the Gaza Strip - five Israelis and one Thai.
