The centrist member of the Council of States told CH Media a few days ago that he was interested in the post of Federal Councillor. However, he will not actively apply. According to the Zug native, who ran to succeed Doris Leuthard in 2018, he has many other exciting mandates.

Peter Hegglin is 64 years old and has been a member of the Council of States in Zug since 2015. He is a member of the Social Security and Health Committees, the Economic Affairs and Taxation Committee and the Finance Committee.

The United Federal Assembly will decide on Viola Amherd's successor on March 12.
