At least two people have been killed by Russian shelling in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson. Three others were injured, as Governor Olexander Prokudin announced on Telegram.

Pictures showed burnt-out apartments in a multi-storey residential building. The river has formed the front line since Russian troops withdrew from the large city to the opposite bank of the Dnipro in November 2022.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than two and a half years. Among other things, Moscow is laying claim to the entire Kherson region.
