Despite international efforts to find a peace solution, the armed forces of Russia and Ukraine have once again attacked each other during the night.

According to the acting mayor Artem Kobsar, a building was hit and one person was killed in a drone attack in the large north-eastern Ukrainian city of Sumy. One person was also injured.

According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, a rocket hit a densely populated area of the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. The regional military administrator Oleh Sinegubov also reported on Telegram that the projectile had hit a multi-storey residential building. According to preliminary information, 20 people were injured. Explosions were also reportedly heard in the suburbs of the Ukrainian capital Kiev and in the southern Ukrainian industrial city of Dnipro.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Russian region of Rostov, Yuri Slyusar, announced via Telegram that the air defense had intercepted and destroyed several enemy drones. According to preliminary information, there was no damage on the ground and no casualties. The information provided by both sides could not be independently verified.

At the Élysée Palace in Paris on Thursday, representatives of the USA, negotiators from Ukraine and advisors from the French, British and German governments met in various formats to discuss ways to end the Russian war of aggression.
