At least four people have been killed by a heavy Russian airstrike in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. The military governor of the region, Oleh Synjehubow, also spoke of at least six injured. According to the Ukrainian air force, Kiev, Odessa and other cities were also attacked with drones, rockets and cruise missiles during the night.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, a logistics center of the postal company Nowa Poschta was destroyed in the suburb of Kharkiv. The authorities accused the Russian army of a so-called double strike: First, the building had been shot at with a missile, and a little later drones had targeted firefighters and rescue workers.

Emergency shutdowns in Kiev

In the capital Kiev, power was once again switched off in many places as an emergency following the attack, according to the city administration. In Ukraine's largest cities, millions of people are currently having to endure severe frost without electricity, heating and water because Russian attacks have deliberately switched off the supply networks.

For its part, the Ukrainian army attacked several locations in Russia with drones during the night. The authorities in the southern Russian region of Rostov confirmed a hit on an industrial company in the city of Taganrog. According to reports from Russian telegram channels, this was a factory where aircraft are repaired and drone parts are manufactured.
