The van with Swiss license plates was traveling in the direction of the Gotthard when it was stopped by the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS). The arrest was made last week, as the authorities announced on Friday.
The FOCA imposed a fine of several thousand francs for failing to declare the goods and properly clear them through customs. The vehicle of the two Italian nationals, aged 47 and 22, was carrying several parcels of food for third parties. These included 9 kilograms of meat and 22.5 liters of wine.
