In addition, Alain de Raemy, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Lugano, called for prayers. In it, people should remember the deceased Pope, thank him and "entrust him to the Lord in all goodness", he said in a statement on Monday.
The Pope was an example of true humility and care for those most in need, de Raemy continued. During his time, he had exhorted people to hope in the goodness of the Lord without hesitation.
The Apostolic Administrator now hopes to soon receive a new Pope who will continue the path of his predecessor.
