In a message published on the Facebook page of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, it stated that all distribution centers for aid supplies were closed. The population is called upon to stay away from the centers for their own safety. There was initially no information on the expected duration of the closure.
People in the Gaza Strip are celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha today, which is traditionally associated with a feast.
Israel only eased the blockade on aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip around two weeks ago. The distribution of aid was taken over by the GHF. The organization bypasses aid organizations of the United Nations and other initiatives. It has been accused of endangering civilians and violating established standards of neutral aid. Israel, on the other hand, says it wants to prevent the Islamist Hamas from appropriating the aid deliveries.
