The controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) is still unable to distribute humanitarian aid to the suffering population in the Gaza Strip at its centers. The foundation stated that it had received "direct threats" from Hamas. "These threats made it impossible to continue today without endangering the lives of innocent people." Hundreds of thousands of starving people had not received any food as a result.

The day before, the GHF had already announced the temporary closure of its distribution centers. The centers had been closed due to the "large crowds" in order to ensure the safety of the people on site, it said. However, thousands of food parcels had previously been distributed.
Around two weeks ago, Israel eased the blockade on aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip. The distribution of aid supplies was taken over by the GHF. The organization bypasses UN aid organizations and other initiatives. It has been accused of endangering civilians and violating standards of neutral aid. Israel, on the other hand, says it wants to prevent Hamas from appropriating the aid deliveries.
