"The enemy has once again attacked the city's civilian infrastructure," said Odessa's military administration chief Serhij Lysak. In one part of the city, the roof of a maternity clinic was hit. "Fortunately, the staff and patients were able to get to a shelter in time," he said. Two floors of a multi-storey residential building were also partially damaged.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks. Odessa alone had been attacked with more than 60 drones. "This has no military meaning, it is pure terror against normal civilian life," he said on Telegram and published photos of the damage. "Every such attack proves that Russia does not want to end the war. Therefore, any easing of pressure on Russia is dangerous," he warned.
Russia: 155 Ukrainian drones shot down
According to the authorities, there were also further massive Ukrainian drone attacks in Russia. A child was killed in a house in the Yaroslavl region, Governor Mikhail Yevrayev announced on Telegram. The parents were taken to hospital with serious injuries. A woman in the neighboring house was also injured.
There were also reports of Ukrainian attacks from Chapaevsk in the Samara region in the south of Russia, where a company important for missile production was one of the targets. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported a total of 155 repelled Ukrainian drone attacks, including in the Tver, Belgorod and Kursk regions. As is usually the case in daily military bulletins, the ministry did not provide any information on strikes, damage or casualties.
Russia has been waging a destructive war of aggression against Ukraine for more than four years. The attacked country is also defending itself against the invasion with counter-attacks against targets in Russia.
