Party preferences have not changed much since the National Council elections in October 2023, according to the results of the first half of the National Council's legislative period. The market research institute YouGov surveyed 31,000 Swiss voters for this purpose. The results have been available since Thursday.
According to the opinion barometer, 10 percent of Green voters at the time would now support the SP. According to YouGov, some of the voters who opted for the SP, FDP or Center Party in 2023 now prefer the GLP. And the SVP would also receive support from the former FDP and centrist voters. By contrast, four percent of SVP voters in 2023 would be more likely to vote for a smaller party today.
According to the barometer, the SVP and SP are almost equally popular among voters aged between 18 and 29. The Greens would be most popular among young voters. The SVP is preferred by voters between 30 and 59, with the center performing best from sixty onwards.
According to the YouGov survey, women are more likely to vote for the SP and Greens, while the SVP and FDP are more popular with men. Voters without a university degree tend to opt for the SVP. According to the YouGov barometer, young female voters with a high level of formal education tend to favor the left-wing and green parties.
