As a National Councillor and with her mandates, she wants to continue to focus on foreign and economic policy, wrote Schneider-Schneiter. In doing so, she wants to work for a "strong economy, an open and networked Switzerland and humanitarian international cooperation".

In Zug cantonal councillor Martin Pfister, who announced his candidacy on Monday morning, there is a politician available who is committed to these goals, Schneider-Scheiter continued. Together with Markus Ritter, a "balanced ticket" for the Federal Assembly is guaranteed.

"Of course, there is one woman missing from this ticket," admits the National Councillor. This makes it all the more important for her party to consider women early on when filling top positions in the center in the future, the communiqué continued.
