The heads of state and government of the EU countries have reached a compromise in the dispute over the future financing of Ukraine. As German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced after the EU summit in Brussels, Ukraine will receive an interest-free loan of 90 billion euros from the EU. If Russia does not pay compensation for war damage, Russian assets frozen in the EU will be used for repayment.
