Brienz slide Evacuees are allowed to visit Brienz GR again briefly
On 28 and 29 March, the evacuees from Brienz GR will be allowed to return to the village for the second time. Farmers will be allowed to farm their land from Monday.

Residents can return to the village between 9 am and 5 pm, as announced by the municipality of Albula on Friday. Owners of vacation homes can also register.
Should the situation worsen due to the threat of a rock avalanche, access would be stopped immediately and the village evacuated. The authorities would then sound a siren. Anyone in the village must be reachable by cell phone.
Brienz is still in phase red danger level. In November 2024, the village was evacuated for the second time because it was threatened by a sliding pile of rubble.
Positive experiences
Residents were able to return briefly for the first time in mid-February. Those who were already there then no longer need to register.
The authorities drew a positive conclusion at the time. It was mainly files and other small items that were removed from the houses. The mood among the residents was positive. They appreciated the fact that their request for a short visit to the village was granted. Due to the high demand, the authorities set up a third visiting window at short notice.
