Epstein documents as exhibits: The approximately 3.5 million documents published by the US Department of Justice on the Epstein case are currently on display in New York - bound into 3,437 books. The so-called "Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room" was organized by a non-profit organization which, according to its own information, wants to highlight the extent of the Epstein scandal and draw attention to the suffering of the victims.

The exhibition can be viewed free of charge for around two weeks by appointment, and many appointments were booked up immediately. However, visitors are not allowed to read or leaf through the books - according to the organizers, this is to protect the victims, whose identities were not sufficiently obscured in the documents by the US Department of Justice.

"Unforgivable. Unforgivable."

In addition to the many shelves full of books, the rooms in southern Manhattan contain an exhibition on the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and US President Donald Trump as well as a room where visitors can jot down their thoughts. "Believe the survivors", for example, is written there - and: "Unforgivable. Unforgettable."

The multimillionaire Epstein had run an abuse ring for years, to which numerous young women and minors fell victim. Many influential people are said to have been among his clients.

Almost 20 years ago, the first allegations were brought to court and Epstein pleaded guilty to certain charges. Years later, the case was reopened and the multimillionaire was arrested again. Before a possible further verdict could be reached, the financier died in his prison cell on August 10, 2019 at the age of 66. The autopsy report stated suicide as the cause of death.
