Weather Confederation warns of heavy thunderstorms on Wednesday evening
The Federal Office of Meteorology is warning of thunderstorms along the northern side of the Alps as well as in eastern Valais and north-eastern Switzerland on Wednesday evening. In the afternoon, the danger level for the corresponding regions was raised to considerable, according to the federal website.

For the region around Nyon VD on Lake Geneva as well as Adelboden-Kandersteg and St. Stephan-Lenk in the Bernese Oberland, danger level 4, i.e. great danger, even applied from the afternoon.
The Federal Office of Meteorology (MeteoSwiss) warned of large branches breaking off, trees falling over, lightning strikes and hail damage. Landslides in exposed locations or the sudden occurrence of tidal waves in streams or flooding are also possible, according to MeteoSwiss.
