After heavy rainfall in Romania, a village is cut off from the outside world. Hundreds of residents are stranded in the village of Silistea in the south-east of the country because the access roads are under water, as the rescue service reported on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the weather service had declared the highest storm alert level for Bucharest and five counties in the south and south-east of Romania.
Hundreds of schools and other educational institutions in the affected region remained closed due to the flooding on Wednesday. Trees fell and roads were flooded. Around 13,000 households were without electricity.
