The Swiss Medical Association FMH supports the new Tardoc tariff model. This was decided by the delegates on Thursday evening. There had previously been internal opposition to the model presented last week by Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider.

The rapid introduction of appropriate tariffs that are adapted to modern medicine is of the utmost importance, according to a statement issued by the FMH on Friday.

The agreement reached by the FMH will enable all tariff partners to submit a joint application for approval to the Federal Council and the introduction of the Tardoc single service tariff and outpatient flat rates as of 1 January 2026. This will also enable a simultaneous revision of the inappropriate flat rates with the involvement of the specialist societies.

Within the medical association with its 45,000 members and over 70 member organizations, some specialists had gone into opposition. They objected to the transitional provisions presented by the Organization for Outpatient Tariffs (OAAT).
