The Glarus government remains as it is. All five councillors were re-elected in the first round of voting on Sunday. The best result was achieved by the SP's Markus Heer.

The people of Glarus opted for consistency on Sunday. Their turnout in the general election for the new cantonal government was 40.63%.
State Governor Kaspar Becker (center), State Governor Markus Heer (SP), the longest-serving member of the cantonal government Marianne Lienhard (SVP), her party colleague Thomas Tschudi and Christian Marti (FDP) may run for another term in office.
The three non-party challengers stood no chance in all three Glarus municipalities.
