Green Party President Lisa Mazzone praised migration, which "enriches Switzerland in the truest sense of the word", in front of the party's delegates in Brig VS on Saturday. In particular, she defended the refugees whose rights are under attack.

"There are not too many refugees, but not enough protection for those who need it," said the Geneva native. She criticized the FDP, which, knowing that Switzerland "does not function" without migration, legitimizes the "beneficial entry" of some foreigners "but sacrifices the weakest".
Mazzone mentioned the sans-papiers and asylum seekers who are "excluded from Fortress Europe" and have no "economic lobby to defend themselves".
Mazzone also condemned the SVP's "isolationist" initiative for a Switzerland with ten million inhabitants. "The problem is not the space, but the way it is divided up," she asserted. The unequal distribution of space, wealth and opportunities is the problem.
