The terrorist organization Hamas has once again handed over the mortal remains of a hostage to employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The Israeli army, citing the ICRC, announced that a coffin containing a body had been handed over in the Gaza Strip.

The mortal remains are now to be taken to the army and then identified in a forensic institute in Israel. It was initially unclear who the abductee was. The Islamists had already handed over mortal remains several times, none of which were still missing hostages.
Before the handover in the evening, there were still eight dead hostages in the Gaza Strip, including a German-Israeli and two foreigners kidnapped from Israel. As part of the peace plan promoted by the USA, Hamas had also released all hostages still alive on October 13 in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
