"Hamas is committed to respecting the agreement and taking the necessary steps to return the hostages," the statement said. According to the ceasefire agreement, Hamas must hand over a total of 28 bodies. 20 of them remain in the Gaza Strip.
According to Israeli media reports, the Israeli security authorities recommend that the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt should only be opened once all the hostages' bodies have been returned. The terrorist organization explained that there were difficulties in locating the remains in the rubble after two years of war.
The Israeli Kan channel reported that the security authorities' recommendation to the political leadership was also not to allow the full import of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip until all the bodies had been handed over.
