According to the Israeli army, the attack occurred shortly after midnight (local time). The military intercepted a rocket. It had been fired from Yemen. A missile alert was triggered in several areas in the center of Israel and in Tel Aviv. The Houthi declared that they would continue their attacks on Israel.
Like Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the militia in Yemen is supported by Israel's arch-enemy Iran.
