Incidents in Lebanon again despite ceasefire

Lebanese security sources also reported that two Lebanese men had approached an area in the south of the country in a suspicious manner, which civilians are currently not allowed to enter.

A ten-day ceasefire in the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel came into force on Friday night. Since then, however, there have been repeated incidents in Lebanon.

In a statement, the Israeli military added that there had also been two similar incidents on Monday. "In all these cases, the Israeli Air Force attacked the terrorists in order to eliminate the threat." It was not initially reported whether there were any casualties or even deaths.

Israel: Hezbollah has fired projectiles

Israel's army also announced that Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran, had fired several rockets at Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon in the evening. The Israeli military then attacked the launching pad. There was also a rocket alert in northern Israel in the evening - according to the Israeli army, this was probably triggered by a drone launched by Israel from Lebanon. The drone did not enter Israel. The army spoke of violations of the ceasefire.

Security circles: Israeli shelling in southern Lebanon

Meanwhile, Lebanese security sources continued to report that Israel's army had fired two rockets at an area in the south of the country. Israeli artillery was also fired at another location in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military did not initially comment on either incident when asked.

The current ceasefire agreement states that Israel should refrain from "offensive" operations against targets in Lebanon. However, the country is allowed to defend itself against planned, imminent or ongoing attacks.

Israeli soldiers are still stationed in southern Lebanon. According to Israel, it has set up a so-called security zone there to protect northern Israeli towns from Hezbollah attacks. The Lebanese leadership, on the other hand, speaks of an occupation of its territory.
