Resignation Innerrhoden cantonal councillor Ruedi Ulmann resigns unexpectedly
The head of the Innerrhoden Building and Environment Department, Ruedi Ulmann (center), has announced his resignation at the Landsgemeinde 2025. In recent years, he and his department have been repeatedly confronted with accusations.

It was the right time, 56-year-old Ruedi Ulmann was quoted as saying in the media release issued by the Council Chancellery on Friday.
In 2017, the Landsgemeinde elected him head of the Building and Environment Department. He had previously been a member of the Grand Council. Some of the more important projects during his time in office include the indoor swimming pool in Appenzell and the flood restoration in Weissbad.
Due to criticism of him and his department, an external assessment was commissioned. The report has refuted much of this criticism, according to the press release. In addition, measures for improvement have been introduced and implemented. The department is now in a good position.
