Iran has sharply rejected US President Donald Trump's claims about the condition of the Iranian navy and air force. "The US claims that the Iranian navy is destroyed (...) Then the question is why the Strait of Hormuz is still closed and no tanker can cross it," said Mohammed Akbarsadeh, deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards Navy, according to the IRNA news agency.

Trump had previously written on his Truth Social platform that the Iranian navy had disappeared, the air force no longer existed, missiles, drones and everything else was being destroyed. "Again the question: why do Iran's missiles and drones hit their intended targets at regular intervals?" Akbarsadeh countered.
The Iranian power apparatus has so far proven to be resilient and has struck back time and again, which is increasingly damaging to the USA and its allies as well as the global economy. For example, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are maintaining a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a strait between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman that is important for oil transportation. Shipping traffic has almost come to a standstill. The strait between Iran and Oman, which is around 55 kilometers wide, is considered one of the most important shipping routes for global oil exports.
