Foreign Office spokesman Ismail Baghai told the Iranian news agency Isna that Iran would convey its position to the mediating state Pakistan after examining the proposal. Baghai did not provide any information on the content of the proposal.
Meanwhile, Baghai dismissed a US media report by the news website "Axios" about a possible imminent agreement between the warring parties as exaggerated. Citing US sources, "Axios" had reported that a unilateral document to settle the war in the short term was close to being finalized.
Trump had previously threatened Iran again on his Truth Social platform: "Assuming Iran agrees to fulfill what has been agreed - which is perhaps a bold assumption - the already legendary "Epic Fury" will come to an end, and the extremely effective blockade will allow the Strait of Hormuz to be OPEN TO ALL, including Iran". The US government had named its war against Iran, which it launched jointly with Israel at the end of February, "Epic Fury".
