Another death sentence has been carried out in Iran following accusations of espionage. According to the justice portal "Misan", a man was executed on Monday for allegedly passing on information to foreign intelligence services.

Among other things, he is said to have passed on personnel data from his employer - a satellite research facility - to the Israeli Mossad and the US secret service CIA.
In recent months, several men have already been executed who are accused by Iran's judiciary of having links to the Israeli secret service. In addition, a wave of executions in connection with the mass protests in January continues.
According to the organization Iran Human Rights, at least 1,639 people were executed last year, the highest number in 35 years.
