Iran has fired a new wave of missiles at Israel. This was reported by the Tasnim news agency, which is considered the mouthpiece of the powerful Revolutionary Guards. The Israeli military also announced in the evening that it had registered the firing of Iranian missiles towards Israel.

"Defense systems are in operation to intercept the threat," the Israeli military announced. Sirens sounded in many areas in the north of the country, including the coastal city of Haifa. According to the army, people in the affected areas should seek shelter and only leave when instructed to do so.

The Israeli news website "ynet" reported that residents in northern Israel had heard loud explosions. There were also initially unconfirmed reports of rocket hits.

Israel's military also announced that it was "currently attacking military targets in Tehran". Eyewitnesses reported several loud detonations in the north of the metropolis of millions in the evening. Iranian media also reported attacks from other parts of the country.

Israel began attacking targets in the Islamic Republic on Friday morning - including nuclear facilities, leading military personnel, nuclear scientists, defense positions, cities and, according to reports, oil fields. Iran sees the air attacks as a declaration of war and had already fired hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel on Friday.
