A video clip from the station showed loud explosions suddenly interrupting a live broadcast. The station continued broadcasting after a brief interruption.

No official details of casualties or damage were initially given. According to informed sources, dozens of technicians were killed in the attack.

The main building of the state broadcaster is located in a densely populated district in the north of the metropolis, which Israel had previously called on people to evacuate.

Horn concerts could be heard in the Iranian capital after the attack. The state media are under the control of the government and spread its propaganda.

At the same time, panic is growing in the metropolis: fearing an even greater escalation, many residents have now tried to leave the megacity. Stores are barely open, ATMs are often empty or not working, as eyewitnesses have reported. Some water supplies have been cut off as a result of Israeli attacks. The supply situation is worsening.
