If the US government wants its universities in the region to be spared retaliatory measures, it must condemn the bombing of universities by 12 noon Tehran time on Monday, the Fars news agency, which is close to the Revolutionary Guards, quoted a statement by the Iranian elite force on the X platform.
Iran reports shelling of its universities
All employees, professors and students of American universities in the region, as well as residents of the surrounding areas, are advised to stay one kilometer away from the campuses, Fars quoted from the Revolutionary Guards' statement. According to Iranian sources, the Isfahan University of Technology and the University of Science and Technology in Tehran had previously been the target of Israeli-American attacks.
Israeli and American universities in the region were targeted by Iranian retaliatory measures, Fars quoted the Revolutionary Guards as saying.
The real aim of the American-Israeli aggression against Iran is to "destroy the scientific foundations and cultural heritage of our country by systematically targeting universities, research centers, historical monuments and prominent scientists," Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei wrote on X.
Iran has not only been attacking targets in Israel in retaliation to the Israeli-American attacks since they began a month ago, but has also been targeting neighboring Gulf states that host US bases.
