"Iran will respond to any attack, no matter how small, with possibly undesirable consequences for the USA," said Akraminia according to the Tasnim news agency, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards.
Akraminia explained that Iranian forces could attack US bases with drones, missiles and other weapons. A military conflict would not be limited to a short period of time; rather, the conflict could spread to the entire West Asia region - from Israel to countries with US bases.
Operational plans were ready for various scenarios, said Akraminia. Orders had been sent to the armed forces. Damaged air defense systems had been repaired or replaced since the war in June 2025, and new systems had been added.
The spokesman accused the USA of pursuing an "18th and 19th century gunboat policy" in an attempt to force other states to make concessions.
The USA has built up a large military presence in the Gulf region - also to protect its troops and allies. The current crisis was triggered by the brutal suppression of mass protests in Iran and the dispute over the Islamic Republic's nuclear and missile programs.
US President Donald Trump is demanding that Iran completely renounce uranium enrichment. The USA is also demanding that Iran limit the range of its ballistic missiles. According to information from the US television channel CNN, the leadership in Tehran rejects this.
