"The enemy's overt and covert movements show that it is seeking a new round of war," said Parliament Speaker Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf in an audio message broadcast by Iranian media. The armed forces had made the best possible use of the ceasefire to rebuild their capabilities, he explained.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is in Tehran for the second time this week for talks with Iranian government representatives. He first met his counterpart Eskandar Momeni there, as reported by state radio. Naqvi was already in Iran at the beginning of the week. Among others, he met with Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who are conducting Iran's negotiations with the USA.
Interior Minister Naqvi is considered a close confidant of Pakistani military leader Asim Munir, who is said to maintain good contacts with US President Donald Trump. The USA and Israel launched a war against Iran at the end of February. A ceasefire has been in place since the beginning of April. This was followed by negotiations. Pakistan has mediated intensively in recent weeks.
