The Israeli army says it has killed four extremist Palestinians in the south of the Gaza Strip. During the night, "four terrorists were identified in the area of the city of Rafah who came from an underground infrastructure in the area", according to a military statement. They had been "eliminated" in coordination with the air force.

According to Israeli media reports, dozens of armed Hamas members had entrenched themselves in a tunnel in the Rafah area in an area controlled by Israel as part of the ceasefire. Negotiations over their demand for free passage have been unsuccessful.
A ceasefire was agreed in the war between Israel and the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas on 10 October. Nevertheless, deadly incidents continue to occur, with both sides accusing each other of violations. According to the Hamas-controlled health authority, more than 350 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began. Several Israeli soldiers have been killed in attacks.
