According to the Israeli army, Iran has once again fired missiles at Israel. "Defense systems are in operation to intercept the threat," it said in a statement. Iran confirmed the attack.

Warning sirens blared in several areas of the country, including the densely populated Tel Aviv metropolitan area. People in the affected regions were instructed to temporarily stay in shelters. They have since been allowed to leave them again.

The Israeli broadcaster Kan reported that a rocket had reached Israeli territory and had been fired. The Magen David Adom rescue service reported that a vehicle had been hit by a rocket fragment in the center of the country. However, the driver was fully conscious.

The last time there were rocket attacks from Iran was during the night. Since then, however, the Islamic Republic has also attacked Israel with drones.

At the same time, Israel continues to attack targets in Iran. In the past 24 hours, the Israeli air force has flown three waves of attacks, army spokesman Effie Defrin announced in the evening. It has attacked around 40 positions in Tehran.
