For the first time, Israel has revoked the citizenship of two convicted assassins and decided to expel them. The two men, who are said to have received financial support from the Palestinian Authority (PA), had carried out attacks on Israeli civilians, announced the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Three years ago, the parliament in Jerusalem approved a law that allows for such expulsions. It is now being implemented for the first time.

Critics complain that the law contradicts international law because it makes people stateless.

Netanyahu has signed the revocation of their citizenship as well as their deportation, the statement added, and: "Many more will follow." According to earlier reports, deportation proceedings have been initiated against hundreds of people.

Reports: those affected will be deported to the Gaza Strip

According to Israeli media, the two people concerned are Israeli Arabs who had been sentenced to long prison terms for their crimes. According to the report, both will be deported to the Gaza Strip - one man who has already been released from prison immediately, the other after serving his prison sentence. The law provides for deportation to Palestinian-controlled areas.

There has been an increase in attacks on Israelis, particularly since the start of the Gaza war. However, most of the attacks are carried out by Palestinians from the West Bank who are not Israelis. At the same time, there has been an increase in violence against Palestinians by radical Israeli settlers in the West Bank.
