Politics Israeli army surrounds district in Rafah
According to Israel's army, it has surrounded a neighborhood in the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. Israeli ground troops have already been deployed in the Tal al-Sultan district for around two weeks in order to take action against Hamas, according to the military.

Since then, soldiers have "eliminated dozens of terrorists" and destroyed dozens of weapons and other infrastructure belonging to terrorist organizations. They also reportedly found two rockets in a building. The army has also arrested suspects for questioning, a statement added.
According to Palestinian reports, there are regular casualties in the attacks and fighting in the Gaza Strip, including many civilians. The information provided by both sides cannot currently be independently verified.
In recent days, the Israeli army has called on residents of the city of Rafah and neighboring towns to flee the area.
