According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 6 people have been killed and 24 others injured in Israeli airstrikes in the capital Beirut. Early on Wednesday morning, an explosion rocked the Bashura district: according to a photographer from the German Press Agency, a high-rise building was hit and completely reduced to rubble. Israel's military had previously warned of attacks. The neighborhood had already been the target of air strikes last week.

According to state media, one attack hit an apartment in the city center, not far from the branch of a Hezbollah militia financial institution recently attacked by the Israeli military. According to media reports, further bullets hit the Basta district, which is also centrally located. Residents reported several clearly audible explosions. All of the areas hit on Wednesday morning are close to Lebanese government buildings such as the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister's office.

During the night, Hezbollah, which is allied with Iran, again fired dozens of rockets at the north of neighboring Israel. The fighting was triggered by the Israeli-American attacks on Iran almost three weeks ago. War has been raging in the region ever since.
