Another Kennedy wants to enter US politics: Jack Schlossberg, grandson of former US President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) and his wife Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994), is running for a seat in the US House of Representatives. He will run for the Democratic Party in his New York constituency in 2026, the 32-year-old announced via Instagram video.

Democrat Jerry Nadler, who last won this constituency, had already announced his intention to retire. However, it is expected that numerous other Democrats will run in this constituency - a success for Schlossberg is therefore by no means guaranteed.

Born in 1993 to artist Edwin Schlossberg and JFK's daughter Caroline Kennedy, Jack Schlossberg studied law at the elite universities of Harvard and Yale and most recently worked as a journalist, among other things.

Numerous members of the Kennedy dynasty have been active in US politics. For example, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is currently Secretary of Health and Human Services in US President Donald Trump's administration - although Schlossberg has publicly criticized his cousin for his work on several occasions.
