Israel Katz announces further calls for Gaza residents to flee
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has announced new calls for people in the Gaza Strip to flee. "The evacuation of the population from the combat zones will begin again soon," he said in a video address. The air strikes on Hamas targets were only the first step. What follows now will be much worse, Katz said, without giving details. "And you will pay the full price," he warned the residents of the extensively destroyed coastal area.

"Release the hostages and expel Hamas," Katz demanded. "Then other opportunities will open up for you." He cited emigration to other countries as an example. "The alternative is complete devastation." Israel will act with a force that the people in the Gaza Strip have not yet experienced. Addressing the inhabitants of the coastal strip, he spoke of a "final warning".
There have recently been warnings to Israel, including from Germany, not to punish the civilian population across the board for the actions of Hamas.
On Tuesday night, for the first time since a ceasefire began around two months ago, the Israeli air force once again massively bombed Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) targets in the Gaza Strip. According to the army, ground troops are also being deployed again.
