Katz said that the Israeli army was preparing an enforcement plan for this. "The military must prepare both intelligence and operationally to secure air sovereignty over Tehran and prevent Iran from rebuilding its capabilities," the minister confirmed after a meeting with high-ranking military officials.
On June 13, Israel launched a war against its arch-enemy Iran and flew massive airstrikes against targets throughout the country. Tehran responded with heavy missile attacks in Israel. On June 24, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the two countries. Shortly before this, the USA had also entered the war and attacked the Fordo underground nuclear facility in Iran. The Israeli attacks were prompted by fears that the Iranian leadership was pushing ahead with the construction of nuclear weapons.
