Following a missile attack on the megacity of Dnipro, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of lacking the will to make peace and called for international pressure on Moscow to be increased. "A tactic of pressure is needed - pressure on Russia to end terror and war," said Zelensky in his evening video address.

According to him, at least one person was killed in the evening rocket attack on the industrial city in eastern Ukraine. Five other people were injured.

Selenskyj also reported further attacks on the capital Kiev and Nikopol during the course of the day. Twelve people, including a child, were injured in the attack on Nikopol, which is located on the Dnipro River near the front. "Russia is obviously ignoring diplomacy and is only using its contacts with the world to gain advantages for itself, not to end the war," said Selenskyj.

US President Donald Trump has begun negotiations with Moscow on an end to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. The complete ceasefire without preconditions proposed by the White House was rejected by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. A 30-day moratorium on strikes against energy facilities was agreed as a minimum consensus. However, both warring parties accuse each other of regularly breaking the agreement.
