Kiev has demanded that Moscow cease its daily air strikes as a sign of its desire for peace. "Russia must stop the daily bombardment of Ukraine immediately if it really wants an end to the war," wrote Andriy Yermak, head of the presidential office, on Telegram.

The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had proposed a mutual ceasefire on air and naval attacks in a public message on Platform X to US President Donald Trump as a first step towards a peace solution. This was Selensky's way of showing Trump his desire for peace.

Last night, the Russian military attacked targets in the Ukrainian hinterland with four missiles and 181 drones, according to information from Kiev. 170 of the drones were either shot down or otherwise brought down before reaching their target.

According to the public prosecutor's office, one man was killed in the Odessa region. At least 20 houses were damaged in Odessa and the surrounding area. There was further damage in the Kiev region and the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for just over three years with Western help.
