The Ukrainian army says it has struck an explosives factory in Russia and an oil transshipment complex on the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea annexed by Moscow.

According to the General Staff in Kiev, an explosives factory in the city of Dzerzhinsk in the Russian region of Nizhny Novgorod was attacked in order to reduce Russia's attack potential. Numerous explosions and fires were reported in the vicinity of the target.

Unverifiable videos purporting to show both attacks were circulating on social media. Both locations had already been targeted by the Ukrainian army in the past.

The governor of the region, Gleb Nikitin, however, wrote on Telegram that 20 drones near the industrial area of Dzerzhinsk had been repelled and that industrial objects had not been damaged. One person was injured by falling debris and there were several fires in private areas, which were quickly extinguished.

Attack on annexed Crimea too

In Crimea, the Ukrainian military also hit an oil handling complex in the city of Feodosiya, the General Staff in Kiev announced. The complex supplies the Russian army. According to the information, a large fire was discovered at the site after a hit.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for more than three and a half years. As part of its defensive campaign, it has repeatedly attacked targets in Russia. On the one hand, Kiev wants to disrupt the supply of fuel and weapons to the Russian military and, on the other, make it more difficult for Moscow to finance the war.
