Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is ready for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. According to the Russian state news agency Ria Novosti, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pekov said that Putin had also expressed his willingness to engage in dialog with Macron. If there is mutual political will, this can only be seen as positive, he said.

Macron had said on Friday that it could be useful for Europe and Ukraine to talk to Putin again in order to be directly involved in the discussion. "Otherwise, we are discussing among ourselves with negotiators who will discuss with the Russians alone. That is not ideal."
Last Sunday and Monday in Berlin, Ukrainians, Americans and Europeans discussed a peace solution for Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia almost four years ago. Talks entered the next round this weekend in Miami. The US negotiators want to feed back the results from Berlin to Russia's representatives. Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriyev called the talks constructive after the first round.
