Russia Kremlin: Putin meets US envoy Witkoff in the evening
Yuri Ushakov, foreign policy advisor to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, has announced a meeting between the Russian President and US special envoy Steve Witkoff this evening.

There will be a meeting behind closed doors, the pro-Kremlin newspaper "Izvestia" reported, citing Ushakov. The Putin adviser had not previously ruled this out.
Ushakov had also stated that a possible 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine would have to take Russian interests into account. So far, the US proposal has only taken the Ukrainian approach into account, he said.
The USA had made the proposal for a ceasefire during talks with Ukraine in Saudi Arabia and had at least won over the country under attack. Putin has not yet commented on this, but could do so today.
