According to the Kremlin, US negotiators are on their way to Moscow following the proposal of a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. However, it is premature to make Moscow's negotiating position on Ukraine public, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov according to Russian news agencies.

Until now, Russia had always rejected a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine and insisted that the conflict be resolved in its entirety.

The proposals made during talks between the Ukrainians and US-Americans in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday are now being discussed in Moscow, it was reported. Ukraine had announced that it would agree to a 30-day ceasefire if Russia did the same.

According to Peskov, Yuri Ushakov, foreign policy advisor to Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, and Michael Waltz, US national security advisor, spoke about the war in Ukraine the previous day. Peskov did not give any details. He announced an "international telephone call" by Putin, without disclosing any details. Another conversation with US President Donald Trump is expected. A press conference by Putin has also been announced for this Thursday - without a time.
