Politics Kunsthaus Zürich posts another loss - despite many visitors
The Kunsthaus Zürich closed the past financial year with a deficit of around 1.53 million francs - despite good visitor numbers. The loss was therefore only slightly lower than in 2023.

Income increased significantly in some cases, as the Kunsthaus announced on Tuesday. Ticket sales rose particularly strongly. At around 5.5 million francs, they were almost one million higher than in the previous year.
Nevertheless, the Kunsthaus is once again in the red, which is likely to exacerbate the situation. The Kunstgesellschaft, which supports the Kunsthaus, already reported negative association assets of CHF 4.455 million at the end of 2023. Current figures are not yet available.
The Kunsthaus actually wants to achieve a balanced budget by 2027. However, this requires "solid, jointly supported financing" - i.e. subsidies. The Kunsthaus has already submitted an application to the city. The amount of money involved has not yet been communicated.
