According to the authorities, more than 3,000 people have been killed in the war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The Ministry of Health in Beirut reported that 3,020 people have been killed and 9,273 others injured since the outbreak of the latest escalation at the beginning of March. The ministry does not differentiate between civilians and members of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in its count.

In the course of the war with Iran, open warfare also broke out again between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. A ceasefire was signed for the first time in mid-April. However, both sides have continued to attack each other. Even an extension of the ceasefire announced on Friday has so far failed to stop the attacks.
Mutual attacks continued today. According to the Israeli military, a commander of the militant Palestinian organization Islamic Jihad was killed in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon. The Lebanese news agency NNA also reported several Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon. Israeli troops are still stationed there. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for several attacks on Israeli positions in southern Lebanon.
According to NNA, Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun has meanwhile reaffirmed his continued commitment to an end to the war. The Lebanese government is not a party to the conflict. It is his duty to do "the impossible" to end the war, Aoun explained.
